Gastroenterologist-Wanna-Be-Neurologist

Friday morning we woke up to a very cold house (54 degrees). Fortunately River has an extra heater in his room, and the heat was repaired before we even left for dartmouth. It was our long awaited day to see the big shot Gastroenterologist. River's pediatrician had warned us that some people thought of her as brusque, but she was "very smart." No problem. Unfortunately she was more interested in River's neurological issues and less interested in helping us problem solve his digestive issues. She even brought in a neurologist to make sure he wasn't having seizures (which he wasn't). And then she left the office (for the day) before even asking us if we had any other questions. It was a disappointing visit to say the least.

And so I am learning to lower my expectations at these visits. Perhaps they will be able to shed some light on River's situation, but most likely we'll leave with more questions than we started with.

The good news is that River was amazing throughout it all. He slept the whole way there and back (AMAZING!) and was mostly agreeable in the hospital.

Today we decided to conquer some housework.
River helped, and seemed to enjoy it.

River helps unload the dishwasher.

Mommy couldn't have carried all these clothes without River's help.

It sounds like a very frustrating visit to the doctor, but I am over and over again amazed by how strong you are. River is lucky to have such wonderful parents! Look how tall he is getting-he looks great in those pictures Hannah!
