The rest of the day

It was a difficult stay in the hospital for all of us. River was noticeably uncomfortable after his surgery and we were not thrilled with our care. Thankfully we brought some of his toys from home and was able to calm him for short periods of time. It wasn't until late afternoon that we were able to walk around the hospital, always a good trick for settling him, even if only for a short while. To top it off, he is still teething, working on his 2 front bottoms, and I think they are finally surfacing. I'll post pictures as soon as they're visible - I can't wait! We were discharged from the hospital early the next morning, with not enough teaching, and a general feeling of distaste for our medical team. We've learned a lot and will do better next time. Presently we are at home, adjusting to our new routines, and looking forward to River's future. We have received tremendous support from our friends and family and could not have made such a smooth transition home without them.

He loves the lights on his musical sunshine.

Having a moment of calm with mama. The armboard was used to keep IV in, and probably bothered me more than him.

He fought sleep all afternoon and finally gave in.
